My background

I strive to take a very balanced and open approach to the fulfillment of your personal well being. At Balanced Vision, you will find something of benefit that meets your needs and blends with your personality, hopes, and goals.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have completed over 3,000 post-graduate hours of supervised counseling in a professional environment.  Although counselors can become state licensed practitioners with a Master's degree, I also have a Ph.D. in Counseling to enhance my skill set and training even further.  My counseling experience comprises largely of counseling adolescents and adults in both individual and group settings within schools, but I also have extensive experience counseling both adolescents and adults in university and community clinics throughout D/FW.  I truly enjoy continuing to serve clients in a private practice setting.

I intentionally have a small practice and counsel only about 20 or so clients each week. This allows me to provide the highest level of personalized treatment and care to each person.  My clients appreciate that I am fully present with them and it allows them to be fully present with me during each session as we accomplish great things together.

In the past, I have served as both a secondary school teacher and secondary school counselor specializing in adolescent therapy.  I take pride in staying up to date on the latest counseling trends and research on best practices.  I have been invited by both the Texas School Counselor Association and the Texas Counseling Association Professional Growth Conference to give presentations on topics such as the Social and Emotional Needs of Adolescents and Integrating Technology into Counseling Practices.

Please feel free to contact me directly so that I can fully address any questions you may have. I look forward to the opportunity to partner with you in achieving your goals.

I'm Siobhan, my name is an Irish name pronounced like "Sha-Vawn." I am a former public school teacher and lead high school counselor who made the transition into counseling at the college level and am now in private practice. I understand that one of the universal truths of life is change. Change is a process that everyone must face at some point in their life.  As a licensed therapist and college professor, I work toward the betterment of both
