Hi, I’m Dr. Flowers!
Feel free to call me Siobhan - an Irish name pronounced like Sha-Von
I’m here to help you become more grounded in your wellness practices and cultivate healthier ways of thinking, feeling, and being.
At an earlier point in my life as a 7th grade ELA teacher, I found myself going through the motions with no real sense of how I was making it through each day. I felt overwhelmed and was seeking a more intentional approach to gain more control of my daily routine.
Transitioning from classroom teacher to lead high school counselor is where I initially found myself at the intersection of education and mental wellness. It was during this time when I first began to consider how I could successfully blend these two fields together to benefit the well-being of educators.
With a desire to further my career in mental health, I pursued a PhD in Counseling and opened a private practice. I felt inspired that I could provide practical solutions for others to manage stress and avoid the pitfalls of burnout. I also knew I had the skills to help educators who felt disconnected, and I was ready for the challenge.
Using my own experience as an educator and my knowledge as a licensed mental health therapist, I know what it truly means to achieve balance - at the nervous system level (hint: it’s not chocolates and bubble baths).
I still vividly remember the emotional toll I experienced as a K-12 educator. Even now as a professor in higher education, I know how hard it is to try and maintain some semblance of work/life balance and that’s why I developed the GroundED™ group program just for you!

This is so common. Most educators I know have resorted to googling quick solutions with little to no avail.
What I will tell you is that you won’t find my proprietary framework, the Self-Regulation RESET™ on google. Perhaps you’ve tried some surface level activities and found yourself needing more. + "How Does the Rollout of the Course & Live Sessions Work?"
The program will take place over a 6 week time period starting Jan 29th in the late afternoon/early evening - time TBD. We’ll start with a live session for 'Week 1' on Jan. 29th and have our final live sesion on Mar. 5th The lessons will not be delivered all at once, but rather ‘dripped’ out throughout the course of the 6 weeks.
+ "How Long Will I Have Access to the Lessons?"
You will have the ability to download all digital files and access the program classroom for up to 6 months after the last live program meeting to rewatch videos at your own pace and convenience even after the program has ended.
+ "When Will the Live Group Coaching Sessions Take Place?"
Previous group coaching rounds took place on Sundays in the late afternoon or early evening (around 5:30pm - 6:45pm central time). However, we will be a small enough group to make adjustments if need be.
+ "How Available is Dr. Flowers During the 6-week Program?"
This program is designed for you to have direct access to Dr. Flowers for over an hour every week for 6 weeks. Dr. Flowers also directly delivers the recorded lessons in the program classroom. In addition, feel free to reach out to Dr. Flowers (or your fellow program members) in between the live group coaching meetings via the private community group to discuss any of the content from the lessons, to discuss personal aspects of your wellness journey, or any other program related support you may need.
+ "What Comes in the Wellness Kit & When Do I Receive It?"
It’s a surprise - and we don’t spoil surprises around here!! 😉 Just know that the wellness kit is going to include hand selected, crafted items that will help you take an active approach to your wellness and facilitate activities such as journaling, mindfulness, meditation, and overall stress reduction. Your wellness kit will be mailed within one week of the program start date.
+ "What Materials or Equipment Will I Need?"
We will be using either Zoom (or Google Meet as backup) for our live group coaching meetings. The course materials can be accessed via the Teachable courseroom. If you use a desktop/laptop you will not need anything else. If you use a phone or tablet, you will need to download the free apps (Zoom or Meet). Past members have also found that having a planner/calendar (either paper or digital) is helpful to plan out some of the lesson and program activities.

Due to the nature of you receiving downloadable digital products as part of the online course modules as well as physical products in the wellness kit, we do not offer refunds.
